Yoshinken

The First training (Keiko) of the new year

Saturday

We gathered in the Eko temple at dawn to have a toast in Sake for the new year's training. Sensei Marshall, who could not be physically present, was with us on link and greeted the new year in Yoshinken together with his students.

After a longer Ritsu zen, Yuri, Hai, Neri, we went through the Tai sabaki we use within Taikiken and looked at the movements of some other arts. Tai sabaki will be included as a theme in 2023.

We had a short practice with Jo, Bokken with Mukaite and then the obligatory Tanshu from everyone before finishing the physical part of Shin-nen-keiko.

After a pleasant lunch and a knowledge test in Budo, we gathered in OKK's dojo to look at the contributions with pictures and text that all members sent in.

Shin-nen-keiko always feels a little special as we somehow set up training guidelines for the coming year and also look back at what we have done.

Thank you all for your participation in Shin-nen-keiko.
